Among the best known and most frequented seaside resorts of the upper Adriatic, Lignano Sabbiadoro is located between the Marano Lagoon, the Tagliamento River and the sea. Among the paid sports that can be offered on the beach you can choose kayaking, where you can explore the beautiful lagoon of Marano, or you can learn a new skill while having fun in the water with the numerous schools of kitesurfing and windsurfing, or you can also rent a pedal boat or a sailing boat at various points on the beach. The sailing school located on the beach, in the area called "Wind Village" of the Yacht Club Lignano ASD, sailing enthusiasts from kids to adults can find the ideal place for sailing school, rental and parking of their boat.

Besides the sea...

In addition to the traditional beach holiday, Lignano Sabbiadoro offers tourists of all ages many great opportunities for fun, an active life and relaxation. The management of Sabbiadoro offers rental bikes to explore the city and the pine forest, or alternatively you can enjoy a walk in the pedestrianized historic centre that, with its many shops, typical restaurants, ice cream parlours and night clubs, is where tourists meet after a day spent on the beach.

Horse riding in Lignano is possible all year round by contacting specialized equestrian centers and riding schools offering riding courses and excursions on horseback. Access to the beach by horses is allowed only from October to April. The experience of a ride on the beach is truly unmatched, capable of making you appreciate in a new way the magnificence of nature by offering an unparalleled sense of freedom. At the Circolo Ippico Lignanese you will have the opportunity to ride a horse in the pine forest in summer and on the beach in winter.

One of the most beautiful parks in Lignano is the Hemingway Park which takes its name from the writer Ernest Hemingway himself, who spent many holidays in Lignano. The large green area is ideal for walking or cycling and has a playground for the young and the older ones. But the park’s main attraction are undoubtedly the outdoor performances that take place in the arena or on the elevated stage, such as theatre performances, live music and other shows. It is also possible to visit the permanent photographic exhibitions and writings dedicated to Hemingway's life.

For those who want to take care of themselves, Terme di Lignano (Lignano Spa) has been known for almost a century for the beneficial and healing effects of its spa treatments with sea water.

Dedicated to all Go-kart lovers and for those who want to have fun at high speed in complete safety, the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Circuit is the perfect place. A ten minutes by car from Lignano, the circuit includes over 34,000 square meters dedicated to the go-kart track with stands that can host up to 2,000 spectators. The track stretches for 1200 meters in length and from 9.00 to 10.50 meters in width, the paddock of 17,000 square meters. with another 200 pitches and around 1000 parking spaces, all in accordance with international regulations.

Il Faro Rosso (The Red Lighthouse) that stands out against the blue background of the sea is one of the most distinctive places in Lignano located at the end of the beach at the north-eastern end of the peninsula. Lovers of classical music, opera, theatre and live music can choose from a vast program. Various events take place in different places such as bars or outdoors in a magical atmosphere.

The Aquasplash in Lignano Sabbiadoro is one of the first water parks in Italy, with an area of ​​35,000 square meters. Among the numerous water activities, adults and children can try all types of slides (multi-lane or twister), whirlpools, waterfalls and musical atolls. Outside the water there are trampolines, playgrounds and a games room.

Lignano Sabbiadoro Zoo, "Punta Verde Zoo Park", is a private zoo where you can admire local and exotic animals such as antelopes, camels, giraffes, hippos, panthers, tigers, zebras, basilisks, boas, pythons, chameleons, and many others. Educational tours are offered for visitors and students.
